I am trained and qualified in the use of many career assessment tools, though the two that I use most often are the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Strong Interest Inventory. These are more formal assessments that I sometimes use as part of a broader career exploration process, to help gather information about your interests and personality.

Assessment tools can be a valuable way to supplement the career counselling process by quickly providing career-relevant information about yourself that may otherwise be difficult to describe. This can help identify strengths, interests, and personality information to assist in a career exploration and/or job search process.

I will only offer assessments after discussing with you in session what they can and can not do, so that you have full informed consent about the process. If we decide that assessments are a good fit, I will go through your results with you in a follow-up session so that you have an in-depth understanding of what they mean and how they can be useful to you.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

The MBTI Step I personality assessment identifies an individual’s personality preferences by categorizing them into distinct types, and provides a common language around how people interact with others and the world around them. This information helps people improve both their working and personal relationships in a productive and constructive way. The assessment takes only 10-20 minutes and is delivered online through Psychometrics Canada.

Your MBTI results can be summarized in a two-page Profile Report ($35), or a five-page Interpretive Report ($45), which provides further detail and analysis of your unique personality type (fees subject to change).

Strong Interest Inventory

The Strong Interest Inventory is one of the world’s most respected and widely used career assessments, providing insights into your career interests. It helps people discover potential careers they may not have considered and provides a wealth of information about how they approach the world of work.
